Australian mother fern also known as gem fern is by far one of the easiest of all ferns to care for. Asplenium Parvati has very distinctive, thick, dark green fronds,that are quite different from all other ferns. Leaves are hardy and shiny giving it an extremely robust nature. They prefer moderate indirect light avoiding direct sun entirely. A bright window facing east or north can give it just the right amount of light. Keep the soil moist and add diluted fertilizer 25 to 50 percent of recommended dosage of a general purpose fertilizer occasionally during growing season is all it requires. Water the soil not the plant and misting is helpful but not required as it is very tolerant of low humidity. They are very slow growing, making it a perfect house plant. The last 2 pics are my personal plant which is approx. one and a half years old.
